Chinatown Houston, my home away from home. I spend a lot of time here, mostly because this is where Shop In Wonderland is. To be more specific, this is Dun Huang Plaza, and it has become one of the busiest and liveliest places in Houston. One of the trending features: Desserts and Drinks! From fresh fruits to tapioca drinks to cakes and pastries, this plaza has it all. I could talk about all the delicious food too, but that’s for another day. Today I’ll show you four of my favorite drink places here.
Jungle Cafe
I can’t count how many birthday cakes I’ve ordered from Jungle Cafe. Everything from Mango Mousse to Dark Chocolate, this patisserie has it. And of course it also has flavorful drinks.
Coffee Float, with Vanilla Ice Cream. Absolutely tasty!
Creme Brulee, Panna Cotta. Suprisingly, not too sweet. Delectable! I could’ve eaten another order!
Coffee Cantinia, Coffee Cake. I’m a coffee lover, so this could have used a bit more coffee flavor. Overall, good.
Share Tea
Share Tea is one the newest drink places in the plaza. Started in TaiPei in 1992, it has become quite the phenomenon. They say all ingredients and shipped from Taiwan, giving the drinks their unique taste.
QQ Happy Family Milk Tea. This drink automatically comes with tapioca and pudding, but customized the level of sweetness. Delish!
Tea Bar
When Shop in Wonderland was in construction here, I had numerous meetings at Tea Bar. Besides the vast selection of drinks, the spicy chicken nuggets are very delicious. Really, you should try those at least once!
Mixed Fruit tea, large cup, iced, no sugar. Refreshing!
Kung Fu Tea
Another great place that serves slushies, yogurts and a wide selection of boba (tapioca balls) drinks, with locations all over the country.
The awesome KF Milk Tea. I find it a lot creamier than most other milk teas. Yum yum yummy, if you don’t mind the extra calories!
What else can make me more excited than tasty drinks and desserts? Triple Fortune – Japanese Designer Brand by Kaie and Babi. This celestial Fall dress is divinely fabulous. From the lightweight chiffon print, extra sheering in the back, to the satin sash detailing at the bodice, there’s no question this Lolita dress is a must-have! I can see it working for this season and others by changing the blouse and accessories. Bravo to Triple Fortune’s exquisite new line!
If you have not been to Dun Huang Plaza, you should plan a visit. It’s the heart of Houston’s Chinatown, with amazing food, drinks, and of course Shop in Wonderland boutique!
XOXO
