Chinatown Drinks and Desserts

Chinatown Houston, my home away from home. I spend a lot of time here, mostly because this is where Shop In Wonderland is. To be more specific, this is Dun Huang Plaza, and it has become one of the busiest and liveliest places in Houston. One of the trending features: Desserts and Drinks! From fresh fruits to tapioca drinks to cakes and pastries, this plaza has it all. I could talk about all the delicious food too, but that’s for another day. Today I’ll show you four of my favorite drink places here.

Jungle Cafe

I can’t count how many birthday cakes I’ve ordered from Jungle Cafe. Everything from Mango Mousse to Dark Chocolate, this patisserie has it. And of course it also has flavorful drinks.

Coffee Float, with Vanilla Ice Cream. Absolutely tasty!

Creme Brulee, Panna Cotta. Suprisingly, not too sweet. Delectable! I could’ve eaten another order!

Coffee Cantinia, Coffee Cake. I’m a coffee lover, so this could have used a bit more coffee flavor. Overall, good.

Share Tea

Share Tea is one the newest drink places in the plaza. Started in TaiPei in 1992, it has become quite the phenomenon. They say all ingredients and shipped from Taiwan, giving the drinks their unique taste.

QQ Happy Family Milk Tea. This drink automatically comes with tapioca and pudding, but customized the level of sweetness. Delish!

Tea Bar

When Shop in Wonderland was in construction here, I had numerous meetings at Tea Bar. Besides the vast selection of drinks, the spicy chicken nuggets are very delicious. Really, you should try those at least once!

Mixed Fruit tea, large cup, iced, no sugar. Refreshing!

Kung Fu Tea

Another great place that serves slushies, yogurts and a wide selection of boba (tapioca balls) drinks, with locations all over the country.

The awesome KF Milk Tea. I find it a lot creamier than most other milk teas. Yum yum yummy, if you don’t mind the extra calories!

What else can make me more excited than tasty drinks and desserts? Triple Fortune – Japanese Designer Brand by Kaie and Babi. This celestial Fall dress is divinely fabulous. From the lightweight chiffon print, extra sheering in the back, to the satin sash detailing at the bodice, there’s no question this Lolita dress is a must-have! I can see it working for this season and others by changing the blouse and accessories. Bravo to Triple Fortune’s exquisite new line!

I absolutely love hanging out in Chinatown, even if I was born and raised here. I probably know this whole area inside and out and I love how it’s a small Asian community where there is a lot of great places to eat and drink. All the places highlighted in this article are all amazing places to get drinks from but I think my favorite place is Sharetea because of their Hawaiian tea. Great article to show an amazing place in Houston 😀

It’s kind of funny because when I was younger and living closer to Chinatown, my family and I didn’t really venture to this side of Bellaire. Now that I’m older, Chinatown is definitely the spot to hangout with my friends whenever I’m bored, thirsty, or hungry! Something about the vast amount of option is so appealing. I personally love going to Tea Bar to study when I want to get out of the house! I love eating the mini “donuts” and pairing it with my favorite drink, Thai Tea! The dress is so cute and elegant! I have yet to try on Triple Fortunte dress, so maybe I can one day while I’m in Bellaire as well!

Houston has an awesome food scene! It’s so diverse! My friends introduced me to the wonders of this plaza when I was in grad school, looking back I always think “why did I not discover this wonderful place sooner!” The new dresses from Triple Fortune are amazing! I love the fabric and their patterns are so unique!

Half of my heart (and wallet) belongs to fashion and the other half belongs to food!
The Creme Brulee, Panna Cotta sounds amazing, perfect for someone like a “non sweet palate” like me would enjoy.
The level of detail of Celestial Horoscope it’s outstanding!
